These are common questions about land clearing around Hillsboro. They
cover forestry mulching, brush, stumps and the written quote. If yours
is not here, call or text and we will answer it.
We offer forestry mulching, brush clearing, lot clearing, fence line clearing and stump grinding. The mulcher also opens trails and access paths through thick brush. It can clear brush off a pond edge or creek bank and open a view from a home site.
How much does land clearing cost?
We price each job after we look at the land. The acreage and how thick the brush is drive most of the price. Tree size and the lay of the land matter too. The quote comes in writing before any work starts.
What happens to the brush and trees you clear?
The mulching head grinds them where they stand, and the mulch stays on the ground. It covers the soil instead of going into a burn pile or a trailer. The cleanup is done when the mulching is done.
How big a tree can you clear?
Our tree clearing covers saplings and small trees, along with the brush around them. Big trees, like a mature post oak, are work for a tree service. We can mulch the brush and small growth around big trees you want to keep.
Will my lot be ready to build on after you clear it?
Lot clearing leaves the lot open, with the brush and small trees mulched in place. The dirt work comes next, done by the builder or an excavation contractor. Your city or county office says what it needs to see before a build.
Can you grind the stumps too?
Yes. Stump grinding takes a stump down to grade or just below, so the spot can be mowed or built over. The grindings stay on site. That covers stumps left from clearing and stumps from trees cut down earlier.
Can you clear along a fence without taking it down?
Yes. Fence line clearing mulches a strip of brush and small trees along the fence while the fence stays up. We also clear property lines before a survey or a new fence. Building or fixing the fence is work for a fence builder.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends on where the land sits and what comes next. Inside Hillsboro city limits, the city's Building and Community Services office answers that question. A building project that disturbs an acre or more of soil can also need state stormwater coverage from TCEQ. We point you to the right office in your town before work starts.
What areas do you serve?
Our service area takes in Hill County and the I-35 corridor, with Hillsboro at the center. It reaches West and Waco to the south and Itasca, Burleson, Waxahachie and Midlothian to the north. Whitney, Cleburne, Corsicana and Ennis are part of it too. See every town in our service area.
