Who We Are

A Land Clearing Company Serving Hill County

Clear Choice is a land clearing company serving Hillsboro and the Hill County country around it. We work for homeowners with acreage and for owners of ranch land and farms. Our brush clearing opens up pasture that mesquite and Ashe juniper, the tree locals call cedar, have taken over. We also clear building sites and overgrown lots in town, for homes and small businesses.

Our main line of work is forestry mulching. A skid steer with a forestry mulching head grinds brush and small trees where they stand. The mulch stays on the ground as a cover over the soil. What was a thicket becomes open ground you can mow and fence.

Hillsboro sits at the center of our service area, where I-35 splits into I-35E and I-35W. Black clay farmland surrounds the town, and limestone bluffs line the Brazos River on the county's west side. Our work also reaches Waco, Cleburne, Waxahachie and Corsicana. Every job starts with a look at the land and a quote in writing.

How We Work

How a Job With Clear Choice Runs

From the first call or text to the finished work, here is how it goes.

1

Call or Text

Call or text (817) 937-1506, or send the form. Tell us where the land is and what has grown up on it.

2

We Look at the Land

We come out to see the job in person. The brush, the tree sizes, the ground and the way in all shape the plan.

3

Your Quote in Writing

The quote comes in writing and spells out the work. You decide with it in hand.

4

We Clear the Land

We set a start date with you and bring in the mulcher. Brush and small trees go down and turn to mulch right there.

5

Open Ground

The land is open, and the mulch lies where it fell. If the job includes stump grinding, the stumps get ground down to grade or just below it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About Land Clearing or Forestry Mulching?

Common questions about land clearing around Hillsboro and the surrounding counties. If yours is not here, call or text and we will answer it.

Call (817) 937-1506

What land clearing services do you offer?
We offer forestry mulching, brush clearing, lot clearing, fence line clearing and stump grinding. The mulcher also opens trails and access paths through thick brush. It can clear brush off a pond edge or creek bank and open a view from a home site.
How much does land clearing cost?
We price each job after we look at the land. The acreage and how thick the brush is drive most of the price. Tree size and the lay of the land matter too. The quote comes in writing before any work starts.
What happens to the brush and trees you clear?
The mulching head grinds them where they stand, and the mulch stays on the ground. It covers the soil instead of going into a burn pile or a trailer. The cleanup is done when the mulching is done.
How big a tree can you clear?
Our tree clearing covers saplings and small trees, along with the brush around them. Big trees, like a mature post oak, are work for a tree service. We can mulch the brush and small growth around big trees you want to keep.
Will my lot be ready to build on after you clear it?
Lot clearing leaves the lot open, with the brush and small trees mulched in place. The dirt work comes next, done by the builder or an excavation contractor. Your city or county office says what it needs to see before a build.
Can you grind the stumps too?
Yes. Stump grinding takes a stump down to grade or just below, so the spot can be mowed or built over. The grindings stay on site. That covers stumps left from clearing and stumps from trees cut down earlier.
Can you clear along a fence without taking it down?
Yes. Fence line clearing mulches a strip of brush and small trees along the fence while the fence stays up. We also clear property lines before a survey or a new fence. Building or fixing the fence is work for a fence builder.
Do I need a permit to clear my land?
It depends on where the land sits and what comes next. Inside Hillsboro city limits, the city's Building and Community Services office answers that question. A building project that disturbs an acre or more of soil can also need state stormwater coverage from TCEQ. We point you to the right office in your town before work starts.
What areas do you serve?
Our service area takes in Hill County and the I-35 corridor, with Hillsboro at the center. It reaches West and Waco to the south and Itasca, Burleson, Waxahachie and Midlothian to the north. Whitney, Cleburne, Corsicana and Ennis are part of it too. See every town in our service area.
